  16. Introduction
  17. ------------

  19. AstroMart is a complete software for calculating an 
  20. astrological chart.
  21.  
  22. It is equally addressed to students of astrology, and to all 
  23. those who are interested in this science. 
  24.  
  25. AstroMart allows you to enter the details of the person to be 
  26. studied for the calculation of his or her astral chart, and 
  27. calculates the position of the planets at the time of birth as 
  28. well as the position of the astrological houses and aspects.

  30. A variety of graphics and chart analysis is included in the 
  31. software.

  34. Hardware requirements
  35. ---------------------

  37. For DOS: 
  38. - any x86 processor
  39. - hard disk
  40. - 512 kb RAM
  41. - CGA, EGA, VGA or Hercules video 
  42.  - uses x87 if available
  43.  
  44. For Windows: 
  45. - Windows 3.1
  46. - 20386 processor or higher
  47. - hard disk
  48. - 2 mb RAM
  49. - VGA video or better
  50. - uses x87 if available

  53. Installation
  54. ------------

  56. The software is contained in three files:
  57.  
  58. am_dos.exe  : files specific to DOS
  59. am_win.exe  : files specific to Windows
  60. am_data.exe : data files used by both systems
  61.

  63. For MS-DOS:
  64.  
  65. 1) Create a sub-directory for AstroMart:
  66.  
  67.    C:>md \astro
  68. (or any other name) then press <enter>
  69.  
  70. 2) Enter the sub-directory:
  71.  
  72.    C:>cd \astro <enter>
  73.  
  74. 3) Uncompress the program and its data files:
  75.  
  76.    C:\astro>a:am_dos <enter>
  77.    C:\astro>a:am_data <enter>
  78.  
  79. 4) To run AstroMart:
  80.  
  81.    C:>cd \astro <enter>
  82.    C:\astro>astrodos <enter>

  84. For Windows:

  86. 1) Create a sub-directory for AstroMart:

  88.    C:>md \astro
  89. (or any other name) then press <enter>

  91. 2) Enter the sub-directory:

  95. 3) Uncompress the program and its data files:

  100. 4) Install the icon:
  101.    - Select FILE/NEW in the Program Manager
  102.    - Click on the Browse button
  103.    - Select the appropriate drive and directory in the box on 
  104.      the right
  105.    - Double-click on astrowin.exe
  106.    - Click on Ok in each dialog box

  108. 5) To run AstroMart: double-click on its icon.

  111. Vendors and BBS's
  112. -----------------

  114. This is a reduced version of the AstroMart software which I 
  115. have decided to release as shareware. The author reserves all 
  116. rights concerning this program, but will allow this specific 
  117. version to be copied and distributed freely and without charge. 
  118.  
  119. It must be distributed with all its files, including this one.  
  120. Even if the person who takes the program from you uses DOS, he 
  121. may have a friend who uses Windows - DON'T distribute just the 
  122. Windows or the DOS version.

  124. Vendors and BBS's are asked to make themselves known if they 
  125. have not been directly contacted by the author; this is 
  126. important for future updates. This version may not be 
  127. distributed in France.
